I'm not sure most 9-year-old boys would appreciate the kissing scenes. Perhaps a little older than a 9-12 year old reading level. Not necessarily the best writing in the world and I'm not so much into dystopic science fiction as some, but not bad, on the whole. i cannot wait for the nixt book to come out. It's a bit below my reading level, but i don't really care. The ending felt a bit rushed but otherwise it was great.
